Get To The Gig: The Ladybug Music Festival 2025
The Ladybug Music Festival returns to Market Street in Wilmington on Friday, May 30, 2025, with its signature all-women-fronted lineup. Now in its 13th year, this free, rain-or-shine event—a WXPN Welcomes production proudly presented by CHASE and produced by Gable Music Ventures, will showcase over 30 artists from across the U.S., all celebrating women in music. Festival-goers can also enjoy a curated mix of food trucks, artisan vendors, live art, and craft beverages.
Spanning two blocks of downtown Wilmington, the Ladybug Music Festival transforms Market Street into a vibrant celebration of sound, community, and local business. The Main Stage will anchor the 400 block, with additional performances at venues like The Crown at The Queen, Willingtown Square, the 5th Street Stage, Merchant Bar, Huxley & Hiro, and The Quoin’s Rooftop Lounge—each hosting a diverse lineup of artists from the Wilmington and Greater Philadelphia region, as well as from New York, Tennessee, and Florida. This year’s headliner is indie alt-pop rocker Margaret Glaspy, whose latest EP The Sun Doesn't Think (ATO Records) follows her acclaimed album Echo The Diamond, praised by The New York Times, NPR, The New Yorker, and Rolling Stone. Other standout acts include Philadelphia alt-rockers KOSER, Georgia-based R&B/blues group AE the Cool, Grammy-nominated blues-rock icon Martha Wash, and genre-defying Latina/world artist Eljuri, among many others.
The festivities begin at 4:15 PM with DJ Shadylady spinning on the Main Stage, followed by live performances starting at 5:00 PM. The party continues into the night with a free after-party at The Crown at The Queen, where DJ Shadylady returns to the decks at 10:30 PM. Leading up to Ladybug weekend, enjoy two special Countdown to Ladybug events in partnership with The Queen and Downtown Visions. On Wednesday, May 28, head to the 800 block of Market Street for the City Sounds Block Party and music from local cover band Not Your Father’s Daughter, followed by Thursday’s Launch Party at Maker’s Alley—featuring the debut of the 2025 SHE ROCKS Ladybug Beer, brewed specially by Wilmington Brew Works and free music from hometown favorite Katie Dill.
