Get To The Gig Special Edition: What to Expect from Wilmington’s First Porch Fest!

What started as a few friends strumming ukuleles on a porch in Ithaca, NY back in 2007 has blossomed into a worldwide, community-building music festival that literally puts musicians right in front of their neighbors. This fall, Wilmington is joining the movement with its very first Wilmington PorchFest on October 11—thanks to the Original Music Association of Delaware (OMAD) and the residents and businesses of Cool Springs and Trolley Square.

This free, all-ages event brings together seasoned pros and brand-new performers to showcase their musical magic. Attendees can wander from porch to porch with lawn chairs, snacks, or bikes and strollers in tow, creating a warm, leisurely day of discovery. PorchFests break down the walls of formal venues—this is grassroots music made personal: accessible, authentic, and human. Wilmington’s version is more than a festival—it’s your neighbors, your talent, and your community shining together.

Confirmed acts so far are Grace Vonderkuhn, JD Webb, Micheal Davis, Mighty Joe Castro & The Gravamen, with more to come. Rain or shine, the music will flow: Cool Springs from noon–4pm, Trolley Square from 4–8pm. Check out the official schedule and plan your PorchFest adventure at 302omad.com or visit the event page here.
